Chronicle of conference of the Hungarian SITA
The
Hungarian Thomas Aquinas Society
held her annual conference and
General Assembly
March 6-7th
2009 at Campus of the Catholic University, Piliscsaba.
The main topic of conference was:
Thomas Aquinas and Thomism of Today -
Tradition, Interpretation and Perspectives.
On
Friday, March 6th in the afternoon István
Cselényi, president of Hungarian SITA opened the meeting,
interpreted greetings of Abelardo Lobato OP, former president of SITA
and PAST, founder of Hungarian Society, made acquainted relation of
Father Lobato (Actuality of St. Thomas Aquinas), and held own lecture
(Ontology of Summa Theologica). He was the chairperson afternoon and
following forenoon too. The other speakers were:
Marco
Lamanna from
Universitŕ di Bari, Italy (Ens and
intelligibile:
a test for Aquinas' Metaphysics),
Prof. László Boda from PPKE, Budapest (Thomas Aquinas and intellectual
virtues), Bulcsu K. Hoppál (from IAP-PUC, Chile (What do we know when we
preapprehend?) and József Kormos (PPKE, Piliscsaba): Erkenntnis – Glaube
– Unterricht; Zusammenhänge zwischen dem Denken von Thomas von Aquin und
Edith Stein. The evening was closed by a reception and Hungarian folk
music.
On Saturday the opening relation was of Balázs Mezei
from PPKE-BTK, Institute of Philosophy, Piliscsaba (Saint Thomas Aquinas
and the Problem of Evil), after him came:

Blum from Loyola College in Maryland, USA (Thomas'
Argumente für die Unsterblichkeit der Seele zwischen Metaphysik und
Existenzphilosophie), Miss Zita Veronika Tóth,
Budapest (Aquinas
and Buridan on the Possibility of Scientific Knowledge),
Inocent-Mária V. Szaniszló, OP
from Katholische
Universität Ružomberok, Slovakia (Ist das
Denken des Hl. Thomas von Aquin heute aktuell?) After the lunch was held
the General Assembly of the Hungarian Thomas Aquinas Society. To
president was chosen István Cselényi of news, to director Bulcsú
Kál-Hoppál and to member of presidency Mr. Kormos.
The
afternoon the chairman was the new director. The next lectures was: Miss
Zsófia Árik, Budapest (Thomas Aquinas and the Rival Process Theology:
Static and Dynamic View of God), Marko J. Fuchs from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität
München, Germany (Gerechtigkeit, Recht und Naturgesetz bei Thomas von
Aquin), Tamás Nyirkos from ELTE, Budapest (Love
and Make War? - The Context of ST II-II, 40),
Stephen
Chamberlain from Providence College, USA (The Nature and Function of the
Id In Quo in Contemporary Thomism),
Peter
Volek from Katholische Universität Ružomberok, Slovakia (Grundlagen der
personalen Identität nach Thomas von Aquin), Vilmos Voigt from ELTE,
Budapest (Astrologues, magiciens, witches according to Summa contra
Gentiles), Miss Zsuzsanna Mészáros, Budapest (The universale
discussion and the modern relativistic physics) and
Daniel
Heider from University of South Bohemia, Chech Republic (Metaphysics of
Universals in John Poinsot´s Material Logic). After the papers
was held discussions. István Cselényi sayd the Closing Words.
